Johnny Scott (MA, BMus) has over thirty years experience as guitarist, musical director and producer. He was Van Morrison’s guitarist and musical director for several years playing on six albums, touring Europe, the USA, and Canada accompanying special guests Bono, Elvis Costello, Dr. John, Chris Barber and Lonnie Donegan. He recorded with Tom Jones and Bobby Bland, and has appeared on BBC's ‘Later with Jools Holland’.

Johnny has recorded with Eddi Reader and Nick Lowe touring Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

He has recorded 300 television sessions for artists such as Kris Kristofferson, Nanci Griffith, John Prine, Chip Taylor, Tony Joe White, Paul Carrick, Curtis Stigers, Steve Harley, Kirsty MacColl, Ian Dury, the Kinks, Leo Sayer, Neil Sedaka and Johnny Mathis. Other experience includes playing in various theatre productions, orchestral performances with the RTÉ National Symphony and Ulster Orchestras and composing music for three documentaries for Channel 4 and short films.

He currently teaches electric and classical guitar at MTU Cork School of Music on both the BAPM and BMus programmes.
