Tomas Gall
(22-3-80, Slovakia), percussionist, experimental electro acoustic drummer,
Educator (modern jazz, classical, fusion, rock, pop, gospel, world, electronic)
Studied - classical percussions with Milan Michalec (Conservatory Zilina, Slovakia), drum
kit and percussions with Eric Ineke and Frits Landesbergen, he also had a privilege to
study ensemble performance with saxophonist John Ruocco and pianist Rob van Bavel
(Jazz department of Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Netherland), attending mastrclasses
of Michael Brecker, Avishai Cohen, David Liebman, Bill Steward (Jazz department of
Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Netherland), masters in
performance MA (Cork School of Music, Ireland)
As a soloist He won first prize at the Slovakian percussion competition, and as a group
member with his band Organic Wings won first prize at the Jazz Futures Guinnes Jazz
Festival.
He performed, worked, record and toured with many artists, musical companies, big
bands, ensembles, orchestral groups and pop acts from all over Europe (Slovakia, Czech
Republic, Netherland, Germany, UK, Island, Italy, Austria) He was also musicaly active
outside of Europe in Canada, Indonesia, USA, India, Russia and Middle East. He
performed on many International festivals like Bratislava Jazz Days (SK), North Sea Jazz
(NL), Electric Picnic (IE), Fierce Festival Birmingham (UK), Cork Guinness Jazz (IE), just
to name few....
Like a percussion and drum kit teacher he taught students in Slovakia, Netherland and
recently he’s lecturing in Ireland at the Cork School of Music.
His Ireland’s collaborations include bands ensembles and artists like Peter Power, Alex
Petcu, Eamon Cagney, Brian Deady, Rebecca Storm, Karen Underwood, Jerome Rimson,
Dick Farrelly, Peter Dobai, Nial and Caoimhin Vallely, Band 1st Brigade, Organic Wings,
White Boys, Coco Baguettes, The Unknowns and many more....
