Meadhbh Campbell is a conductor and educator from Cork, Ireland. She began her training at the MTU Cork School of Music, and continued her postgraduate studies at the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy in Hungary. She completed an Advanced Diploma in Kodály Pedagogy and subsequently graduated with a Masters in Kodály Music Pedagogy, specialising in choral conducting. She was selected for the National Concert Hall Female Conductor Programme 2019-2021 in association with Grant Thornton, where she received training from esteemed conductors Alice Farnham, David Brophy and Robert Houlihan. She also holds an ATCL Diploma in cello performance, and is a Colleague of the Royal College of Organists. Meadhbh has a passion for singing-based music education, and works with choirs around the city. For many years she taught piano and cello privately and in schools around Cork, both through English and Irish. She now lectures in musicianship across conservatoire and degree levels in MTU Cork School of Music. Her research areas include music literacy, sight-singing and the role of singing-based learning in instrumental pedagogy.
