The Transition Year Work Experience Programmes at MTU Cork School of Music provide young people from across the country with the unique opportunity of developing their own professional practice in the creative and performing arts.

It is a great opportunity for students to get a feel for what it is like to study at MTU Cork School of Music and to work on a professional standard performance with people of their own ages. We offer placements in five different strands and on different dates.

The dates for the 2025 TY Work Experience Programmes are:

Drama & Theatre - Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th, January 2025
Irish Traditional Music - Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th, January 2025
Musical Theatre - Wednesday 8th & Thursday 9th, January 2025
Popular Music - Thursday 9th & Friday 10th January, 2025
Symphony Orchestra - Tuesday 4th - Friday 7th February, 2025

The deadline to apply for the 2025 TY Work Experience Programmes has passed.

Please note that there are fees for these programmes: €80 (Symphony Orchestra) and €40 (all other programmes).
