Erasmus Blended Intensive Project Practice-based Research Connections

Practice-based Research Connections

Erasmus Blended Intensive Project

November 4th – 8th 2025

MTU Faculty of Creative and Performing Arts and Media

MTU Cork School of Music

In collaboration with the Kunst Universität Graz  (AT), LUCA School of Arts Leuven (BE) and the Royal Conservatoire (NL) MTU Cork School of Music is hosting an exciting and innovative Blended Intensive Programme. The programme explores the connections between practice-based research, teaching and performance. A central aim of the programme is to foster collaborative approaches for Masters students from the participating institutions, who have a chance to develop, learn and apply new ideas to their own practice and research.  This programme combines physical and virtual teaching and learning activities.

Practitioner research is currently used as an umbrella term for research based activities that implies that practitioners develop their own practice by doing research. Collaborative learning is not only an educational approachto teaching and learning, but it also relates to the changing cultural and educational world where collaboration becomes more important.

In this blended intensive project students share their research projects, develop their skills in how to undertake research, how to present and communicate their research and how to give and receive feedback. They gain experience and skills in how to collaborate in research activities.
